It seems to be a monitor of wupdate and, unless I get a bite (according to the settings), I don't see it … except where I want it: in the tray, But my windows isn't doing that. If you elect that, the program creates a startup task (Task Scheduler) that runs at user log on. IMO, this is another ploy by MSFT to get you to install their dreaded W10 spyware !!! This can be a bit confusing, however, as Windows 7 has two seemingly conflicting sets of controls for this. But thought I'd give it a go now. these files are regularly replaced by "Windows Updates" so this fix is far from permanent right now.A fix which works well for some, but not for all, is to clear out I can not say with certainty, but I believe all of the "offending" WU fixes (KB3065987/KB3075851/KB3083324 and maybe KB3083710) had to do with adding logic for Group Policy settings for Windows

I have to reboot the system three or four times before the tray icons will show. Had to flush the icon cache on one to allow the WUN icons to function. [My fault for leaving too many old icons for too long.
