In my case the first freeze happened when I tried to start typing in the Install box, and the second one happened when I tried to select all inside the text I've been encounter to much "Not Responding" DN and kill it in task manager many times. For Windows 10 or Windows 8, type Excel/safe in the Run box, then click OK. It does not have the sense to realise that the time taken to do this corresponds to the frequency with which it tries.
Before attempting to remove any hardware, make sure the computer has no conflicts in Device Manager.
