I thought that upgrading to win 7 would solve the problem but its caused more than i expected.... By the way I tried creating a new profile and the minute I add an extension, especially this mail checking, X-notifier to Chrome, it freezes the machine. At this moment, Excel is using 15 MB of PWS mem on my home computer, with a lil' 250-KB file open. I really appreciate this. The scale shows that the hard disk has gone to 100% activity, but the resources using it don't attribute to that. After the browser freezes it spreads to the rest of the system.
I spent literal days plugging away using logic and hand drawn maps to figure out the problem... It's hard to believe that this isn't a well known problem from everything I have seen or read. I will restore back prior to this update. I am a problem solver but not extraordinarily tech savvy.
